One of the best ways to hack your learning is to read and listen at the same time.  For this reason, we have begun transcribing select videos that we think will be beneficial to your growth as a notary.

If you listen while you read the text, you can increase your reading speed as well as retain more information.  This is because the contents are stored in different places in your brain.  This is a great way to digest valuable material.

Hi, my name is Katie and I am with BlueNotary, and today what I wanted to go over is something called Lunch and Learns. So Lunch and Learns are something that brokers usually host for realtors that are under them, that are within their realtor team and then basically what they do is the broker will use the Lunch and Learns as a way to educate the realtors.

Different ways to basically enhance their business. I used to work at a realty office and I would schedule the lunch and learns. So basically what you would do is we would get contacted as the realty office by different vendors that would want to basically pitch to the realtors and then educate them on certain aspects of their business and then let them know how they can help.

The realtors are like how they should best use them. So it’d be anything from home inspections, title company people different insurance groups would reach out to the title reach out to the realty office and then ask them or pitch that they wanted to do a lunch and learn. It’s nice for the mortgage brokers because it educates their realtors.

Realtors usually want to enhance their business. And free food is always a nice thing. So the expectation for you as the notary that is basically pitching your service of whether it be remote or in person, if you are still doing that in one of those states you would let them know, you would call either the admin or, directly.

To the broker or a realtor and just ask Hey, is your brokerage open to me doing a lunch and learn? And usually they’ll know exactly what that is. I don’t know any Realtors that don’t have something along those lines of, if you just say hey, I want to go in front of you guys It’ll be like, oh 20 minutes half an hour of you talking about how you can Help that brokerage.

So that is a great way to market your skill set to a demographic that we very much want to be in front of. The realtors, depending on the state are the ones that can sometimes say to title companies, Hey, I want my clients to be helped by this notary. It doesn’t always happen like that, but

it’s not uncommon. It’s not out of the realm of the norm. Basically what you would have to do is bring some type of food to the realty office and then make your pitch. So you can print out marketing materials you can do a PowerPoint, you can bring an easel, and just go over it. You could do a demo of a remote online notarization.

So just that would probably be a conversation with the broker to see how other people do it or how you would like to do it. And then do a follow up. So sometimes what the people would do is give out a little sheet for the realtors to write down their information. And then they would do a follow up of thank you so much for coming to my lunch and learn and then give the contact information.

So I think that you as a remote online notary, as soon as you pitch that to the realtors, they are going to be, one, educated that the fact that we exist, and two, see the actual real life needs for the clients. So all of the time I live in the state of Florida. All of the time, there are people that are buying houses, sometimes sight unseen.

I think that there was like some sort of statistic that I recently saw that about 5% of the houses that are bought within my area are from sight unseen. They’ve never seen it. They’ve just done a virtual walkthrough with the realtor. Those people are obviously not in the area, so they don’t want to come down.

And remote online notarization is a perfect introduction. Something really good that, The brokerage can add to their offerings to clients. And then especially in time sensitive or anything like that, you want to make sure that everything is getting taken care of. So it is something that is nice to introduce.
