BlueNotary online notarization starts from $25 for one signer and one stamp. Each additional stamp is $8, each additional signer is $5, and a witness is free if you bring your own or $10 if BlueNotary provides one. Closing packages are priced separately. These rates were checked in October 2026.
How much does BlueNotary cost?
BlueNotary, an online notarization platform, charges per session based on what you need notarized. The base price covers one signer and one stamp. Extras are priced individually, so the total depends on how many stamps, signers, and witnesses your document needs. Here are the published rates.
| Item | Price | Notes |
| Notarization, one signer and one stamp | From $25 | The base price for most documents |
| Each additional stamp | $8 | For extra notarial acts on the document |
| Each additional signer | $5 | Each signer joins from their own device |
| Witness you invite | Free | Your own witness, invited to the session |
| Witness provided by BlueNotary | $10 | A witness from BlueNotary’s on-demand network; confirm whether the fee applies per witness |
| Closing package | $99 | No extra stamps or signers; $45 on Business Pro and Closing Pro plans |
| eSign (signature without a notary) | Free | For documents that need only a signature |
The individual rates are on BlueNotary’s fee schedule, and the pricing page shows plans. Confirm the figures at checkout, because rates and plans can change. The closing package figures reflect BlueNotary’s current pricing as confirmed in October 2026.
What does the $25 base price include?
The base price is for one signer and one stamp. A session includes a live meeting with a commissioned online notary, identity verification, the notary’s electronic signature and seal, and the sealed document, and the published fee schedule lists no separate charge for the session record or journal entry. You enter payment details as part of setting up the session, before you join the video call.
BlueNotary’s signer instructions, last updated July 14, 2026, list the flow: create an account, upload an unsigned PDF, choose Notarize Now or schedule, confirm that nobody has signed, verify your identity, enter payment details, and join the session. Its identity guide lists a driver’s license, REAL ID or state ID, passport card, passport book, and permanent resident card as accepted options, with KBA or a biometric scan.
BlueNotary says completed documents are cryptographically sealed so later changes can be detected (digital certificate page), and that journal entries and recordings are kept at least ten years unless a state requires longer, with downloads available (retention page, updated August 13, 2026).
How do extra stamps, signers, and witnesses change the price?
Each extra is added to the base. Two signers on one document means the base plus one additional signer. Two stamps means the base plus one additional stamp. A BlueNotary witness adds $10 if BlueNotary provides one, and nothing if you bring your own. The examples below show typical totals.
| Example (hypothetical totals) | How it adds up | Total |
| One person signs one document | $25 | $25 |
| Bill of sale, buyer and seller sign | $25 + $5 | $30 |
| Lease or divorce paper, two signers | $25 + $5 | $30 |
| One signer, two notarial acts on the document | $25 + $8 | $33 |
| Two signers, one stamp, your own witness | $25 + $5 + $0 | $30 |
| Two signers, one stamp, one BlueNotary witness | $25 + $5 + $10 | $40 |
| Three signers, one stamp, no witness | $25 + $5 + $5 | $35 |
A BlueNotary help article explains that your own witness receives an email link to join the live session, and that you can also invite a witness from the BlueNotary network (Adding a Witness). Because a witness is a separate person, confirm before booking more than one whether the $10 applies to each witness. For several signers, see the multiple-signer process.
How much do closing packages cost?
BlueNotary’s closing package is $99 with no extra stamps or signers, and $45 on Business Pro and Closing Pro plans. BlueNotary’s fee schedule defines a closing package as real estate documents, excluding the seller’s side package. Title and escrow teams should confirm what a given closing needs before they book.
Closing package pricing can change, so confirm the current figure when you book. Whether a remote closing is accepted depends on the lender, title company, and county, not on BlueNotary’s price, so ask your closing agent first. Title teams can see the title and real estate page and the remote online notarization page.
How does BlueNotary pricing work for businesses?
A free Business account lets an administrator create sessions, upload documents, add signers and witnesses, and use the on-demand notary service at the standard per-session rates. Organizations with their own notaries need Business Pro. A business can also choose whether it or each signer pays for a session.
BlueNotary’s business account guide, updated July 13, 2026, says a free Business account can create sessions and use the On-Demand Notary Service, and that organizations that bring their own notaries need Business Pro. The fee schedule lists Business Pro at $47 per seat per month. A separate help article explains that a business can charge all sessions to the business account or have signers pay for their own through a billing setting (choose who pays).

Business Pro, at $47 per seat per month, covers sessions run by your own notaries. Integrations are premium features: BlueNotary’s help center describes an API and webhooks for creating sessions, monitoring status, and retrieving documents, set up with its enterprise team (API and webhooks). For documents that need only a signature, BlueNotary’s eSign is free to use.
How can you estimate your total before you pay?
Count the signers, the notarial acts you need, and any witnesses, then add them to the base price. Check the closing package price if your document is a real estate closing document. Then confirm the figure at checkout, because the checkout screen shows the amount you will actually pay.
1. Count the signers. The base price covers one; add $5 for each additional signer.
2. Count the stamps or notarial acts. The base price covers one; add $8 for each additional stamp.
3. Decide on witnesses. Bring your own for free, or add $10 if BlueNotary provides one.
4. Check whether a closing package or a business plan applies to your situation.
Because rates and plans can change, treat any published total as an estimate and confirm it when you set up the session. If you run a business with many sessions, compare the on-demand rates with a plan using the figures on the pricing page.
When is BlueNotary’s pricing not the cheapest option?
BlueNotary is not always the lowest cost. A free bank notary for customers, an in-person notary under a state fee cap, or a signature-only document that needs no notary can all cost less. Online notarization is better value when you need convenience, after-hours service, remote signers, or a recorded session.
• One simple signature and a free bank notary nearby: the bank may cost nothing for account holders.
• A document that needs no notary: use eSign, which is free, instead of paying for notarization.
• A state with a low in-person fee cap: a local notary may charge only a few dollars.
• A document BlueNotary cannot accept: its documents page excludes documents for foreign embassies, codicils and testamentary trusts, and Form I-9 (documents page).
Under federal law, an electronic signature alone does not make a document notarized. A notarization requirement can be satisfied electronically when the notary’s electronic signature and required information are attached to the record (15 U.S.C. § 7001(g)), so use eSign for signature-only documents and online notarization when a notary is required. For a walkthrough, see BlueNotary’s guide to how online notarization works.
