As of January 27, 2023, These are the requirements to become a Remote Online Notary in the state of Utah. Here’s how to become a remote online notary in Utah.

  1. Fill out the Application Form
  2. Select a Utah State Approved Remote Notary Vendor
  3. Obtain an additional $5000 notary bond rider from your surety company ($10,000 total). A notary can contact the Utah SoS if they are unsure who they’re bonded through.
  4. Obtain an Electronic Seal & Signature (this is available free through BlueNotary)
  5. Submit your Application, bond rider, and PDF file sample document containing your electronic signature and seal to [email protected].
  6. Pay the $50.00 application fee. Your Payment instructions will be sent via email as soon as the Lt. Governor’s office has reviewed your submitted documents.
  7. Receive confirmation & approval from the state!

Once you’re authorized to perform RON in Utah and approved and familiar with your platform, you can start performing Remote Online Notarizations. Be sure to stay current with all your states local Online Notary laws!

To become a Utah Notary Public, you need to complete the following:

  9. You will receive your Certificate of Authority of Notary Public via email after it has been processed.
